Board of Education

Why do I serve? With three children in the district, two in elementary and one in high school, I’m deeply invested in the success of our schools. Through service on the Board of Education, I seek to help our town continue to enhance its most successful and valuable asset, our school system.

Past or present Boards/Commissions/Volunteer work: I served as co-president of the Squadron Line Parent Teacher Organization for three years and president of the Henry James Parent Teacher Council for two years. I also volunteered as a soccer coach for two seasons through Simsbury Soccer.  I provided pro bono legal services to various nonprofit causes during the years I was in private practice.

Employment History: I spent more than 17 years practicing law in NYC and Connecticut.

Education: University of Florida (BS); Brooklyn Law School (JD, cum laude)

Why I love Simsbury: Simsbury is a remarkable place with a great combination of small-town charm, beautiful farms and open space, fantastic schools, and some of the best ice cream I have ever eaten! It is no wonder there are so many people raised in Simsbury who return to raise their own families.

Fun Fact: I told my husband when we were first dating and early in our marriage that “pigs would fly” before we moved to Simsbury since he grew up here and seemingly knew everyone when we came to visit his parents. Within a few days of learning we were pregnant with our first child, I ate my words when I announced that I had come to realize what he always knew — there was no better place to raise our family than Simsbury!
