Marcus Furze

Planning Commission Alternate

Why do I serve? I believe it's important for young locals to be involved in deciding the direction we want for our town’s future. I serve to contribute my voice, as well as ensure the voices of people like me, who often go unheard, will be listened to. Having lived in Simsbury since high school, I want to give back to the town and continue to improve in any area we can. My current experience with the POCD has furthered my desire to contribute.

Past or present Boards/Commissions/Volunteer work: Current member of Planning Commission as Alternate.

Employment History: Currently in the process of opening an axe throwing and social space. Previously managed a major auto repair facility for several years.

Education: B.S. in Management from Central Connecticut State University

Why I love Simsbury: I enjoy the quiet and serenity that our town provides. Simsbury has been home for over half my life. This town has been good to me, so I feel a sense of connection to the town, and my current position on the planning commission allows me to support the important process of maintaining our town.
