Current Office: Democratic Registrar of Voters
Why I serve? I was sent to help in the registrars' office during 2008 Presidential election. I got hooked on elections and I never left. It is rewarding to make voting as easy as possible for my neighbors and to engage young people in the election process.
Past or present Boards/Commissions/Volunteer work: Current member of the Simsbury Democratic Town Committee, (past secretary, past public relations chair, past nominations committee member). Justice of the Peace. Past member Culture Parks and Recreation Commission, past vice president Latimer Lane School PTO, past member Registrar of Voters Association of Connecticut legislative committee.
Employment History: In addition to serving as an election administrator, I am also a publication writer for a private secondary school. I previously wrote for the Hartford Business Journal, Hartford Magazine, Connecticut Magazine and CTLatinoNews, and was a public relations consultant.
Why I love Simsbury: Everything a person could want is right here. And I love living close to my extended family.
Fun Fact: My husband's aunt taught me how to make paella over an open fire on a mountain in Spain.
