Current Office: Board of Finance
Why I Serve: I serve because I want to contribute to the town I love and hopefully leave Simsbury a little better than I found it. On the Board of Finance that means working collaboratively to figure out how to keep Simsbury affordable to businesses and families and responsibly finance all that we love about our town – education, roads, schools, library, public safety, senior center, parks and recreation and government services.
Service: Currently on Teachers Retirement Board, Outside Perspectives and North Central Area Agency on Aging (NCAAA) Board. Former: First Selectwoman, Deputy First Selectman, Board of Selectmen, liaison to the Board of Education, Economic Development Commission, Technology Subcommittee and Housing Authority; member of the Personnel, chair of Public Safety, member of Retirement Subcommittee. Former PTO president at Henry James, founder of an After School Clubs program at Central School.
Education: Bachelor of Arts from Haverford College (History); Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center
Why I Love Simsbury: Simsbury is a wonderful place to raise a family, work and retire in. It’s a place where people care and give back, is welcoming and kind, and has wonderful hiking trails and open spaces for all to enjoy.
Fun Fact: I was born in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
